A translator is a person who is intelligent, has a keen intellectual curiosity, and is open-minded and interested in what's going on in the world. High-level language skills in both official languages are developed over the course of the translation program, while future translators have probably had certain other qualities all their lives.
If you answered yes to these questions, you most likely have the qualities you need to become a translator and to enjoy working in translation.
